Etax Accountants gave a $10,000 tax-free cash prize to one smart and creative Etax.com.au user.
The competition helped collect valuable suggestions from Etax users about how to make Etax even better, and our team used your great ideas for future development of the Etax online tax return.
In 2019, more than 40,000 people entered the contest. Reading all the entries and judging the best one was a lot of work for us! But well worth it. Etax users gave us such valuable suggestions and nice, positive feedback; thank you everyone!
2019 Etax $10,000 Cash Prize Winner
Brittany Van Hoven
Brittany shared an excellent idea for making Etax even better in 2020. Etax software people are already hard at work on that, and every Etax client will see the result in July 2020!
We asked Brittany what she’ll do with her prize.
“My partner and I have been really struggling to pay for our wedding next year so it will go towards that and the honeymoon. We are so excited and couldn’t put into words how thankful we are to Etax.”
2018 Etax $20,000 Cash Prize Winner
Rachel Mueller
Rachel from South Australia won the 2018 Etax $20,000 Cash Prize Competition.
In 2018, to honour Etax’s 20th birthday, we gave an amazing Etax birthday gift to one of our clients – $20,000 cash, tax-free!
Rachel suggested a great way to reduce typing and effort for all Etax clients entering tax deductions. We are getting to work on that, and every Etax client will find their return a bit easier next year as a result. So thanks Rachel for your awesome idea!
Rachel has also just had a baby so she was extra thrilled to be our winner!
Rachel’s thoughtful suggestion for improving Etax is now part of the 2019 tax return, to help people improve their tax refunds and get the tax return done even faster.
2017 Etax $10,000 Cash Prize Winner
Kaye Cheung
Kaye from Melbourne won the 2017 Etax $10,000 Cash Prize Competition.
Her competition entry included a suggestion about sending our clients a ‘pre tax-time email’ reminding them of all the deductions they might be able to claim based on their occupation.
She was so excited to be our winner and donated part of her winnings to the Make-A-Wish Foundation plus enjoyed a yoga retreat holiday in Byron Bay. Kaye’s idea for improving Etax was sent to clients in late June 2018 as part of a newsletter.
2016 Etax $10,000 Cash Prize Winner
Spencer McKenzie
Spencer did very well on the numerical contest question. And above all, he made a really sharp-minded suggestion about how to improve the way Etax clients can interact with their accountants.
Our Brisbane-based design and IT teams got straight to work and their new message tool was rolled out early in 2018. Thanks for the awesome suggestion Spencer. We’ve had hundreds of clients comment on how much easier it is to track and answer all the questions their accountant asked them.
2015 Etax $10,000 Cash Prize Winner
Daisy Bridgwood
Daisy was our 2015 cash prize winner.
Daisy made a great, unique and well thought-out suggestion about including visual examples on the return.
We got to it and now there are plenty of visual guides throughout the Etax tax return.
2014 Etax $10,000 Cash Prize Winner
Catherine Paterson
Catherine made a brilliantly-written suggestion about an Etax mobile app back in 2014.
So we built the mobile app, and we gave Catherine $10,000 cash.
